WNBL Divison One Preview - Week 14 (January 4)

Just one game gets D1W back underway in 2020, with a bit more rest in store for the other teams in the division.

2:00pm - Southwark Pride (2-5) v Ipswich Basketball (7-2)

It’s a tough return to the court for Southwark Pride as they host second place Ipswich in the D1W standings.

The weekend’s host had a rough end to the year with three straight defeats, with the final blow being an 82-41 road loss at Anglia Ruskin University.

Ipswich, meanwhile, go into 2020 on a four-game winning streak after edging the 90-89 contest with Reading Rockets.

Harriet Welham and Colleen Leung racked up 37 and 26 points respectively and combined for 22 of the host's 31 fourth-quarter points in the nerve-wracking finish to the game.

They will be hoping to continue their point scoring partnership this weekend and start the new year in the same vein as 2019.
