WNBL1 preview: 28/29 October - live streams, stats and more

It happened in a flash, but D1W is nearly done with for October.

The month has flown by, but there's still plenty of exciting games over the next few days. That includes a blockbuster clash between Endeavour Ipswich Basketball and Reading, plus other ties that have an impact at both ends of the table.

We take a look at all of the weekend's action below, with links to live stats and live streams at the bottom of the page.

Reading Rockets (2-1) vs Endeavour Ipswich Basketball (3-0)

There's a battle between two title contenders tomorrow as Endeavour Ipswich Basketball take a visit to Reading Rockets.

Ipswich are one of three unbeaten teams this season after compiling early wins over Solent, Thames Valley and Anglia Ruskin University. The former D1W winners do look in ominously good form to start the year, with the rest of the league surely taking note.

Early clashes against Thames Valley could be a decent yard stick for this one, with Rockets tasting defeat last time out against the Cavaliers.

Despite the loss, Lindsey Cleary was in fine form for Reading despite the 73-56 final score. The American's 21-point, 11-rebound, four-assist effort kept her red-hot start to the new campaign going, and Cleary's match up with Ipswich standout Harriet Welham is sure to be one of the storylines of the weekend.

Reading will no doubt want to bounce back from last weekend's loss and a victory against a previously unbeaten title challengers would be the perfect way to do just that. Both teams possess talented rosters, but only one will emerge victorious come Saturday night.

Elsewhere this weekend

The weekend begins in East London as two winless teams go head-to-head in Barking Abbey (0-3) and Bristol Academy Flyers (0-3), with neither side wanting that streak to continue much longer.

City of Birmingham Rockets (1-1) enjoyed their maiden D1W win last weekend as they saw off Barking. They'll look to make it two from two with a home game against Loughborough Riders (2-2).

Manchester Mystics (3-0) aren't following the script after their unbeaten start to life in the top flight. Anglia Ruskin University (2-2) head to the North West on Sunday as the latest team to try and stop the Mystics' early good form since their promotion from D2.

Former D1W winners CoLA Southwark Pride (2-1) have a home tie against reigning FocusHoops Player of the Week Helene Trailin and Thames Valley Cavaliers (1-2).

Trailin's match up against young forward Felicia Jacobs will be one to watch as both players look to set the tone early down low.
