The Slam Jam programme is designed to provide a great first experience to the sport in a fun, safe and engaging atmosphere

Slam Jam for Clubs and Organisations

Our Slam Jam programme is designed to provide a great first experience to the sport in a fun, safe and engaging atmosphere.

Slam Jam not only focuses on basketball related activity, but it also aims to improve the physical literacy and fundamentals of movement for all participants.?

We hope that everyone who finishes the programme will want to continue their basketball experience and make it a sport for life.

Slam Jam is packed with fun basketball games, rewards and gives children a great way to learn the basic skills of the game.

All the information you need can be found below, including how to register, what equipment is provided, plus more on our latest Slam Jam development, Slam Jam Play.

What is Slam Jam?

Slam Jam is an action-packed, six-to-twelve week programme that aims to get children aged five-to-eleven-years-old playing basketball for the first time. Sessions are packed with games and activities that are based around developing participants’ fundamental movement skills.

Slam Jam is all about learning new skills, making amazing friends and of course, having lots of fun!

What are the programmes?

Slam Jam now has two programmes available for your club or organisation, Slam Jam Intro and Slam Jam Play. See below further information on each one, and how you could use it.

Programme One - Slam Jam (Intro)

Our first programme is the Slam Jam you know and love, and it can be the cornerstone of a club's offering as you prepare players to move into Slam Jam Play.

By registering, participants will receive a Slam Jam basketball, drawstring bag, and a Slam Jam t-shirt. These packs will be sent out directly to your club to be handed out to participants during the first session.?

The programme cost will be £13.99 per participant, providing an excellent opportunity to get new players involved in the game at a truly low price.

Programme Two - Slam Jam Play

Slam Jam Play is a new programme designed for participants who are ready to play small-sided games. New resources and lessons have been developed which use a 'game sense' approach to develop a player's understanding and appreciation of the sport.

By registering for the programme, participants will receive a Slam Jam reversible jersey, wristband and drawstring bag. Slam Jam Play packs will also be sent to your club to handed out before sessions begin.

This programme will cost £14.99 per participant.

Our long-term goal is to deliver Slam Jam festivals where providers who offer Slam Jam Play can go head-to-head against each other in mini matches!

Personalisation?

New for this year, players will now can personalise their t-shirt and reversible jersey.?

When participants register for your sessions through PlayHQ, they will be able to personalise their order. This takes the hassle away from your club directly and offers a great option for young players to further connect with Slam Jam!

Please note there is a small charge associated with the personalisation, which a participant will pay on check out.?

Optional Slam Jam Pack

We have a new Slam Jam organisers kit that contains everything required to carry out Slam Jam or Slam Jam Play sessions.

The equipment pack costs £225.00 and includes:

  • 15 x Slam Jam Balls
  • 10 x Slam Jam Bibs
  • 10 x Foam Balls
  • 15 x Drop Down Markers
  • 2 x Lesson Resources
  • 1 x Slam Jam bag

To order one of these kits, please be sure to include it on your registration form.

Finance

For each programme, organisations can add their charge on top of the Basketball England fee, with the booking system automatically allocating the funds into your selected bank account. Enabling clubs to set up a sustainable model to run the programme.

How it works

For both Slam Jam and Slam Jam Play, you will have the opportunity to add your club or organisation's own fees onto a participant's total.

Using PlayHQ, you will be able to factor in your own costs (such as venue hire, coaching etc), and this will be added together with BE's fees automatically to give participants one convenient amount to pay.

For example, if you wish to charge £20 for your club or organisation's part in Slam Jam delivery, each participant will just see a total cost of £32.99 when they reach the PlayHQ check out.

The money owed to your club from each registration will be transferred into your club's bank account weekly, and the BE portion of the fee will come directly to us.

We can give recommendations on what clubs usually charge for Slam Jam sessions but given the variance in court hire costs and the other factors involved we will leave it up to you to decide what price point makes most sense for your participants.
