Commonwealth Games: Elite English talent ready for Manchester 3x3 camp

A wealth of elite English 3x3 talent is converging in Manchester for a Team England preparation camp before the Glasgow 2026 Home Nations 3x3 Basketball Qualification Event.

A full complement of pros - including Birmingham 2022 gold and silver medal winners Jamell Anderson, Shanice Beckford-Norton and Cheridene Green - is expected to work-out at the National Basketball Performance Centre (NBPC) between the 19-21 of May under the tutelage of England 3x3 head coaches Julius Joseph MBE and Sarah Hopkins-Chery

From the camp, both coaches will be deciding their quartets to represent England at the Glasgow 2026 Qualifier, also happening at the same venue on the 22-23 May.

The qualification event will see England, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and Wales battle it out to secure a spot in the men’s and women’s 3x3 competitions at this year’s Commonwealth Games.

The players will also be looking to impress on the final squad that competes at the actual Glasgow 2026 games in July – should England qualify.

During the camp the players will receive full-medical screening, as well as strength and conditioning testing, before taping up to showcase their 3x3 skills. They will also be invited to anti-doping and mental well-being training.

Additionally, sport talent agency Good Vibes Only will be presenting a brand building workshop to help the athletes understand how they can use their skills and stories to build their profiles.
