Durham County Basketball League's bumper weekend of cup finals
The Durham County Basketball League Cup Finals were held on the 11-12 April at Sunderland City Space.
The bumper weekend of cup basketball saw five games take place over the weekend.
In the Women's County Cup it was Tees Valley Mohawks Pink who came up trumps, beating Newcastle Lady Griffins 78-53 and adding the cup to their league title.
Lambton Legion were crowned champions in the Men's Division Three Cup Final, playing out a thriller against Golden Smog Warriors Gold and scoring the winning basket with just six seconds left on the clock to take the chip 68-67.
Men's Division Two winners were Stockton Shadows who took a commanding win over Teesside Lions, winning 85-30.
And lastly, Division One's East Durham Lions followed the Mohawks Pink in doing the league and division cup double. The Lions also won the County Cup, beating Tees Valley Mohawks 79-76.
Durham County Basketball League Secretary Matt Connolly said:
"Our county and divisional cup finals always provide an exciting and fitting end to a long season of basketball.
It is fantastic to see the supporters, players and officials of the league coming together to watch some great local league basketball. Well done to all our finalists and congratulations."
