Julius Joseph MBE appointed Great Britain Men’s 3x3 Head Coach

One of the most influential figures in the growth of 3x3 basketball in the UK, Joseph has played a central role in the development of the discipline both on and off the court.

As founder of Ball Out 3x3, the UK's premier 3x3 basketball tour, he has helped provide opportunities for thousands of players across the country while contributing significantly to the sport's increasing popularity and visibility.

His contribution to basketball was recognised in the 2025 King's Birthday Honours, when he was awarded an MBE for services to the game.

Joseph's coaching credentials in 3x3 are equally impressive. He led England to a historic gold medal at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games before guiding Great Britain to its first-ever qualification for the FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup in 2024.

More recently, he was appointed to lead England's men's 3x3 programme as the nation prepares for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, securing qualification last month.

Joseph said: “It’s an honour to be appointed Head Coach of the GB Men’s 3x3 team. Representing Great Britain on the international stage is a privilege, and I’m committed to building a high-performance environment that reflects the passion, resilience and ambition of our programme.

“3x3 continues to grow rapidly, and I’m excited to lead this group as we push towards new standards and future success.”

The upcoming FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup Qualifiers in Romania will mark Joseph's first competition in charge of the senior men's programme since his appointment, with Great Britain aiming to secure a place at this summer's FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup.
