NBL/WNBL Players and Teams of the Week 20/21 Dec 2025

We assess the best and brightest performers in D1 from the weekend - and you can have your say on our selections and give a shout-out to the players you think deserve one by using the hashtag #NBL2526. Don’t forget to tag us!

How it works

Each week, a standout player plus four other worthy selections, will be put forward to make the Player and Team Of The Week in both D1M and D1W, paying attention to the following criteria:

• Efficiency
• Stats
• Team and opposition strength
• Periods of influence in the game
• Being on a winning team (exceptional performances from players on losing teams will be considered for TOTW)

Players of the Week

With the National Cup semi-finals taking place, there were only a limited number of D1 league games, but there was still plenty of action to catch the eye, with two players standing tall.

Worcester Wolves’ Chuk Okibe wasted no time making a contribution to his side’s 78-72 D1M win over the Sheffield Arrows. Okibe enjoyed a 13-minute double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds as his team moved into joint top spot in Pool A.

With only two league games taking place in D1W this weekend, there will be no Team of the Week named. However, Anglia Ruskin’s Vicky Gray came back to haunt her former club, Endeavour Ipswich Basketball, with a stellar double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds to win the Player of the Week crown.

Gray also got four assists and four steals in a 78-62 win.

D1M Team of the Week

Chuk Okibe - Worcester Wolves (13pts, 10rebs, 21eff)

Kunal Bagga - Sheffield Arrows (27pts, 4rebs, 22eff)

Charlie Ollis - Cobham Cobras (18pts, 12rebs, 21eff)

Ellis Tomking - Barking Abbey (18pts, 12rebs, 23eff)

Toby Gass – CoLA Southwark Pride (19pts, 12rebs, 18eff)

Joining Okibe in the final Team of the Week of 2025 is Sheffield Arrows’ Kunal Bagga, who scored a game-high 27 points in the narrow loss to Worcester. He pulled down four rebounds in his haul.

Charlie Ollis was outstanding for the Cobham Cobras in their 80-67 victory over London Elite. Ollis bagged a double-double of 18 points, which included four triples and 12 boards.

Ellis Tomking stood tall for Barking Abbey in their tense 70-68 overtime win over CoLA. Tomking shot 53 percent from the floor for 18 points and also pulled down 12 rebounds before fouling out.

Even though CoLA lost, Toby Gass was superb, recording a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds, including six offensive rebounds.
