Playoff Finals 2026: NBL2, WNBL2 winners, recaps, gallery & reaction

The day began with the WNBL Division Two showpiece as Barking Abbey saw off East London Phoenix, before the NBL Division Two Final went the way of Oaklands Wolves, capping their perfect season as they beat Gloucester City Kings 122-76.

WNBL2 Playoff Final: Barking Abbey 83-54 East London Phoenix

Barking Abbey ended their season on a high with a commanding 83-54 victory over Pool B rivals East London Phoenix.

Making a bid to take the season series 3-0 after a pair of wins in the regular-season, BA had no problem in their quest for playoff glory, as a 20-10 opening frame provided the platform needed for a sizable win.

Barking's swarming defence was the catalyst for their success, forcing Phoenix into 37 turnovers as the difference between the sides only grew the longer the game wore on.

MVP honours went to young guard Sharliyah Sutherland as she dropped a game-high 21 points to go with six rebounds, four assists and three steals.

The WEABL U17 Player of the Year was supported well by fellow Academy prospect Kamilah Yakubu (12pts, 7reb) as all 12 members of the Abbey roster got onto the scoreboard.

Teniyah Crenshaw-Patterson top scored for Phoenix with 18 points, leading the way on an afternoon when her side never really hit their stride on the big stage.

NBL2 Playoff Final: Oaklands Wolves 122-76 Gloucester City Kings

Oaklands Wolves finished off their perfect season in style, blowing away Gloucester City Kings 122-76 to take the D2M title.

In the build up, Kings' head coach Jay Marriott said his side wanted to test themselves against the best from across the country, and it's hard to say he didn't get his wish. Despite the score line, Gloucester didn't play poorly, but the Wolves were dominant and led by a performance for the ages from Kane Daley.

Pouring in 43 points that included an incredible 9/12 from beyond the arc, Daley's 51 index made the MVP call a simple task, tacking on seven rebounds and five assists to a masterclass performance.

Daley's antics meant that Oaklands went into the half shooting better from three-point than two-point range (61%-58%), and that scoring touch continued into a lopsided 40-21 third quarter.

Gloucester were up against it after a 35-25 opening frame, and their task became that much harder as Pool C MVP Karl Teesdale fouled out with 1:07 still remaining in the first half.

That left an already limited eight-man Kings' rotation stretched further still, but the Wolves were in no mood to take their foot off the pedal as they roared away to victory.

Former Reading Rocket Reis Pinnock (19pts, 12ast) and Matthew Disu (21pts) both provided worthy performances that understandably sat in Daley's shadow, and Rhys Farrell (28pts, 5/8 3pt) led the resistance for the Kings who can still be proud of their season after being in existence as a club for just five and a half years.
