WNBL D1 Preview (17/18 Jan 2026) - Live Stats, streaming, schedule and more

Ipswich's clash with London Cavaliers is a big one at the top of the standings, with CoLA looking to bounce back from last weekend's defeat to new front-runners Manchester as they host London All Stars.

Bromsgrove and Loughborough both have opportunities to get out of the bottom two, but Brent have a pair of games to ensure they're not pulled into the mix if they do.

Front-runners in action

With just four points separating the top five in D1W, there are fine margins in play between success and failure.

Manchester came through their test against title rivals CoLA a week ago, but the Mystics need to keep up that level, including this weekend against Brent, if they're to stay atop the division.

Pride can bounce back as they take on 3-7 London All Stars, Anglia Ruskin will be hoping to keep Bromsgrove in the bottom two, and there's a huge match up between Ipswich and London Cavaliers in Suffolk.

The Cavs edged October's encounter in Uxbridge 93-88, and with the head-to-head tiebreaker on the line as well as a valuable two points, the reverse fixture on Saturday is set to be a cracker.

Fighting hard at the bottom

Eyes may be on the glory at the top of the standings but teams are battling hard lower down the table, both for playoff spots and to avoid the potential relegation places in 11th and 12th.

Bottom side Bromsgrove have a tricky home tie against Anglia Ruskin and reigning Player of the Week Vicky Gray. 

Loughborough head to a Worcester side in somewhat of a false position given their injury problems and point deduction, and London All Stars have a daunting trip to CoLA.

Brent may have the best chance to success this weekend as they go into a double-header, though Sunday's home match up with 4-9 Bristol Flyers may be a more likely bet for points than Saturday's away day in Manchester.
