WNBL D1 Recap (17/18 Jan 2026) - results, stats, streams and more

Wins for CoLA, Manchester and London Cavaliers keep the trio in the top three, though the two-loss Mystics and Cavs are still ahead of Pride as things stand.

The race for the other playoff spots is heating up, but further losses for Loughborough and Bromsgrove spell trouble for that duo at the bottom.

Standout performances

A 22-9 third quarter allowed CoLA to pull away to their latest win, downing London All Stars 61-49 to keep their title charge alive.

The Cavs went level with Pride on 20 points after Chinwe Iwunze's big day sparked a 96-74 road win in Ipswich, but Manchester stayed ahead of both sides after their comfortable 80-44 victory against Brent.

Worcester celebrated the signing of Bristol's Marlee Ball with an 80-61 win over Loughborough, though her former side may be fearing the worst after their 56-46 defeat to Brent on Sunday made it six losses in their last seven outings.

Bromsgrove couldn't capitalise on defeats for those around them as the Bears picked up an L of their own, going down 99-52 at home to an Anglia Ruskin side that built a 52-18 half-time lead and never looked back.

What does it mean for the standings? 

Manchester maintain their spot at the top as the first side to 11 wins this season, though both CoLA and the Cavs are close behind.

Anglia Ruskin and Ipswich appear to be settling into the battle behind for fourth and fifth, as Bristol, Worcester, Brent and London All Stars all skirt the fine line between sitting in the playoff spots and being dragged into the bottom two.

Player-of-the-week candidates 

Big games from Chinwe Iwunze (31pts, 7reb, 5stl) and Janice Monakana (29pts, 11reb, 4ast) helped the Cavs to their latest win, and both outputs were needed to cancel out a 30-point effort from Ipswich star Harriet Welham.

Seventeen points of the CoLA bench from Monife Abidekun helped Pride in their win over London All Stars, and both Abby Conlee (21pts, 11reb) and Faye Parker (18pts, 11reb, 7blks) grabbed double-doubles for ARU against Bromsgrove.

Nineteen points apiece from Success Odemwingie and Georgia Perdomo complimented a 13-point, seven-assist cameo from Chloe Andrew off the Mystics bench in Manchester's victory over Brent, leaving potentially the best for last as Worcester's Ciani Montgomery (27pts, 9reb, 4ast, 5stl) put together another great outing for the Wolves. Her output marked the return from injury of Carolina Marques (19pts, 6reb), which is sure to be another lift to the West Midlands outfit.

Loughborough pair Erin Caldwell and Mallory Meyer had 20 points each in the loss.
