What is Slam Jam?
Slam Jam is a 6-12 week programme that aims to get children aged between 5 and 11 to develop their basketball skills in a fun and friendly environment.
What does each child receive as part of the programme?
For the Slam Jam intro programme, participants will receive a Slam Jam T-Shirt, basketball and drawstring bag.
For the Slam Jam play programme, participants will receive a Slam Jam jersey, wristband and a drawstring bag.
You will have the opportunity to personalise your uniform when checking out.
What programmes are available?
There are two separate programme streams. The first is Slam Jam intro, which is the first programme a participant should register for and will introduce participants to the game in a supportive and friendly environment. Participants will learn the fundamentals of basketball throughout this programme.
The second programme stream is Slam Jam Play. This is for players who are ready to participate in small-sided games and activities. This programme will develop participants game sense and prepare them to play competitively for a team in future years.
When will my participant pack be delivered?
Your participant pack will be delivered to your club and handed out during the first session.
What can my child and I expect at a Slam Jam session?
Slam Jam is an action-packed, fun programme of game-based activities that will help to give your child a great first experience of basketball.
Throughout the 6-12 weeks, your child will be learning lots of new skills, making friends and most importantly having fun!
Is the programme safe?
Yes, the Slam Jam programme is an initiative designed by Basketball England. Basketball England require all activators to undergo safeguarding, risk and insurance assessments before they are accredited. Alongside this, all of our Slam Jam activators have received training and are fully checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
What happens if my child misses a session?
If your child misses a session due to being ill or unable to attend, you can discuss making the session up with your delivery provider but this will be at their discretion and may not be possible.
Is there anything my child needs to take to their session?
We recommend bringing a bottle of water to stay hydrated.
Will any photos be taken of my child during the session?
Photos may be taken during the sessions. Consent will need to be given to allow photography as well as the use of these photos. If you have concerns, please contact your Slam Jam activator.
What are the shirt sizes?
Our T-Shirts range from sizes 6-16 and our Jerseys sizes are either size 10 or size 14. The sizes can be seen below:

Can my child join half way through a programme and what happens if my child doesn’t receive a full programme?
Yes, your child can join a programme after it has started.
However, please be aware this does not guarantee them the six sessions.
When registering, we would recommend checking with your delivery provider to see if they can accommodate any extra sessions. Please note, this is at their discretion and may not be possible.
I have received the wrong t-shirt size in my order?
If you receive the wrong size, please get in touch with us at [email protected] to request a new size.
Please confirm your order details and the t-shirt you have received in error in the email. You will be provided with a returns label for the t-shirt you received incorrectly.
