Basketball England is recruiting a number of key roles to spark the bounce back from COVID-19.

BE and the basketball community have endured severe disruption during the COVID-19 pandemicworking together to find ways to engage, be active and stay safe throughout the past 12 months.

The national governing body has secured resources from Government and Sport England to help the club network survive, despite considerable financial losses and staff reductions.

BE is now entering a recovery phase to prepare for a full return to play when lockdown measures are eased further.

Basketball England CEO Stewart Kellett said:

"We are looking forward to the returning with a strong, safe 2021/22 season, providing sound governance for the game before stoking increased interest and participation in basketball via the excitement and spectacle created by the inaugural Commonwealth Games 3x3 basketball event at Birmingham 2022.

"To assist with stabilising the organisation and helping the game recover and grow, we are recruiting to several essential roles.

"This includes talent development across the regions and kickstarting our journey to creating winning teams for Birmingham 2022, as well as important governance work that will underpin all levels in the game. That includes vital support around human resources and equality, diversity and inclusion."

Basketball England is recruiting for:

  • Two 3x3 Team England coaches
  • A Talent Programme and Pathway Manager
  • Four Regional Talent Managers

“The right candidates for these roles – which are quite different to traditional 5v5 coaching roles – should show a real love for, understanding and experience of 3x3 and its qualities.

“We are excited to hear from coaches ready to think outside the box, with a fresh, bold approach and a real desire to win. We are open-minded about the kind of coaching journey candidates have been on and will value innovation, 3x3 experience and will look within and beyond standard coaching qualification boundaries.”
