Other opportunities within basketball

Basketball offers a vast range of employment opportunities across England. We are committed to promoting diversity and inclusion across the sport so that everyone can say “Basketball is a game for me”.

City of Leeds Basketball Club - Community Development & Jnr. National League Coach

The City Of Leeds Basketball Foundation is continuing to grow in stature and as such, they are delighted to be further expanding their workforce.

They are seeking to employ a new Community Development & Jnr. National League Coach and welcome candidates who are enthusiastic about the sport, with a desire to develop their coaching expertise.

The City Of Leeds has interests in community development, Jnr. National League & Academy basketball, as well as an evolving partnership in higher education. The successful candidate will contribute on multiple levels of this expanding pathway and gain significant experience in both sports development and coaching.

This role will also have a specific assignment to the continued development of their growing lower-school pathway at Allerton High School.

The deadline for applying is Friday 11 October 2024.

Greenhouse Sports - Basketball Head Coach

Greenhouse Sports are looking to recruit a qualified, skilled Basketball Head Coach to lead one of their programmes.

The role will be based at Elmgreen School and will include planning and delivering a comprehensive high-quality coaching and mentoring programme.

Programmes typically include a combination of non-curricular breakfast, lunch and after-school coaching sessions, one-to-one or small groups sessions (where agreed with the school) and develop regular competitive opportunities for all players.

The successful candidate will also be required to deliver half term and holiday camps during the school holidays.

Established in 2002, Greenhouse Sports charity is leading the fight for a future where young people are supported and empowered, whatever their challenges, through sport. We coach and mentor young people from deprived backgrounds because the crisis for children living in deprivation is real and it is urgent.

Children from the poorest families are three times more likely to not participate in any extra-curricular activities compared to those from wealthier families and they lack many opportunities that are available to their wealthier peers.
