Talent Delivery Officer

We are looking for an experienced administrator who is well organised and passionate about providing exemplary support. Working in a fast-paced environment this role will help us develop a world-class talent system with the aim of ensuring everyone involved in basketball can have a positive and enjoyable experience.

Playing a key role in Basketball England’s Talent Pathway, the Talent Delivery Officer is an administrative position to support the delivery of a single, unified BE talent system and be an initial point of contact for people so that they can operate effectively within it.

We ask that you’re approachable, friendly and proactive – you’re the first point of contact within our talent system. You’re organised, with the ability to prioritise, multi-task and effectively meet deadlines, calm and professional, have excellent attention to detail and you value working with your team. You’ve got recent experience in an administrative and/or customer service role. Your IT skills are excellent and you communicate well both in written and spoken English.

Basketball England - Non-Executive Director (x2)

Can you help us? Have you got what it takes to be an effective Board member and create the right conditions for the game to thrive?

Our board is key to delivery of the organisation’s many initiatives, and we are looking for two dynamic additions to our Non-Executive Directors. We are looking for an elected candidate who will be able to bring relevant experience to our board, as well as a passion for supporting and challenging the Executive Team. The Non-Executive Directors will serve for a period of three years.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and suitably experienced individual who is enthusiastic about helping Basketball England navigate through this period of change, govern the sport responsibly and assist in developing the right approaches to grow, resource and develop the sport.

Consistent with Sport England’s Code of Governance, the Basketball England board has recently completed an audit of its current skills. It has identified skills and experiences that would benefit Basketball England in terms of the board’s discharging is duties in the delivery of its Strategic Plan. Whilst we would welcome nominations from anyone who feels they have experience and skills that could benefit the board, we are keen to hear from individuals with demonstrable skills and experience covering one or more of the following areas: -

• Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

• Safeguarding & Welfare

• IT & Digital Transformation

While previous board or business experience may be useful, it is not essential. Candidates seeking their first board role who show the commitment and potential to drive change will be considered and supported.

Safeguarding Sub Committee Member

Basketball England are pleased to announce we are recruiting a Safeguarding Sub Committee Member.   We see this role as pivotal in the continuing the critical safeguarding work recognised as ‘of a very high standard – CPSU July 2023’.  The key role of the of this new member will be to work with the sub-committee to hold the Executive Management Team to account for strategic decisions and operational management of all activity relating to Safeguarding.

You will be joining this committee at an exciting point of development and improvement.  With increased resource and capacity for change we are keen to ensure that this post-holder will provide the support and rigour which allows our service in this area to be an exemplary example to other National Governing Bodies.

Regional Chair needed for West Midlands Region

Basketball England are looking to full Regional Chair Vacancies in the West Midlands Region. The role of the Chair will be to work with the Regional Development Team to ensure that the Regional Committee functions effectively and maximises the potential of each area, providing leadership at regional level on Basketball England’s activities.

This important role involves leading the committee of regional representatives and working with the Regional Development Team to deliver Basketball England’s activity, as agreed by the Board and committees. You will assist in enabling members in your region to have access to good quality basketball playing opportunities, competitions, and other supporting activities to help them get the most out of their sport.
