Ransome Sporting Goods Product and Sales Manager 

Ransome Sporting Goods, exclusive United Kingdom and Ireland distributors for Baden and Sure Shot basketball and netball brands, are seeking to appoint a full time permanent Product and Sales Manager at their Middlesbrough office.

The successful applicant will need to have a good knowledge of basketball, be enthusiastic about the sport and the products needed to play the game, be self-motivated and be able to work on his/her own initiative.

Training will be provided. The role is mainly office based in Teesside with a full time salary plus commission and expenses as appropriate.

This is a unique opportunity for a person with a passion for basketball to work in the sport for an ambitious company that is looking to expand its presence and share of the British and Irish markets.

Volunteer Basketball Coach 

Leeds LDM - U10’s, U12s, U14s

Various evenings throughout the week

What will you be doing?

The role will include coaching and supporting the training sessions of a number of age group teams once or twice a week (depending on age group), to create a positive learning environment where young people can learn sportsmanship, fundamental skills, teamwork, and responsibility with the intention to inspire them to achieve.

What are we looking for?

  • Someone who has an interest in basketball and knows the fundamentals of the game
  • Can demonstrate effective leadership
  • Experience working with young people in sport is desirable
  • Good communication skills with players, club staff and parents
  • Teamwork and working collaboratively with other club members
  • An understanding of different approaches to develop performance
  • Dependable and organised, to be of consistent support to young people
  • Show integrity and be fair and inspire young people to develop

Academy Assistant Coach

LDM/Leeds City College Basketball Academy

Voluntary Role (reasonable travel expenses paid)

Availability on a Wednesday afternoon is essential for this role.

Leeds City College Basketball academy is a brand new programme for players aged 16-19 to mix basketball alongside their studies, competing in the AoC regional competition. 

What will you be doing?

You will be shadowing and learning from the academy head coach, assisting with planning for training and match days and taking training sessions for the academy team. Opportunities to coach lead coach the second team also a possibility for the right candidate.

What are we looking for?

  • Someone who has an interest in basketball and knows the fundamentals of the game
  • Can demonstrate effective leadership
  • Experience working in a youth sport environment is desirable 
  • Good communication skills with players
  • Teamwork and working collaboratively with other staff members
  • An understanding of different approaches to develop performance
  • Dependable and organised, to be of consistent support to young people
  • Show integrity and be fair and inspire young people to develop
  • Qualified to at least a Basketball Level 1 qualification, with a willingness to work towards a Level 2
