If you are looking to book a course for six or more candidates, the information you require is below.

On this page, you will find all you need to know about our coaching courses. Our Activators, Level 1 Coach and Level 2 Coach courses are available to be utilised by clubs, leagues, associations, schools, colleges and universities to name but a few.

The courses are to be delivered face-to-face using an approved tutor. Courses currently cannot take place outside of educational settings and can only take place in educational settings providing the school/college/university is already delivering face-to-face. You should source an approved Basketball England tutor or you can request assistance finding a tutor if required.

Once the course has been approved by Basketball England, we can provide you with all the resources utilising the Hive Learning platform, which can be operated on a laptop, computer or smart device (phone or tablet).

Covid-19 Restrictions

Delivering this course face-to-face and the logistics around this are managed by your educational setting. Any face-to-face courses outside of this are currently not possible due to the restrictions in place by the government.

Invoicing & Candidate Details

We will invoice for all courses within 5 working days.

Along with the invoice will be the documentation for you to register your candidates for the course. You will also be provided with the course code which will be required when completing the candidate register.

Activators

An introductory-level qualification designed to empower participants with the skills, drills and basic technical knowledge to deliver recreational basketball.

Expected duration: 6 hours

Pre-requisites: None

Recommended minimum age: 14 years

Cost:  £15 per candidate + recommended tutor fee of £90 (plus travel @ 35p per mile)

Certification: Upon completion of the course, the candidate will receive an e-certificate.

Level 1 Coach

The basic level if you’re starting out in basketball coaching. It’s great if you already have a club coach and you’re planning to work alongside them in a school or coaching environment. This qualification enables you to assist other coaches in delivering sessions.

Expected duration: 16 hours

Pre-requisite: None

Recommended minimum age: 16 years

Cost: £25 per candidate + recommended tutor fee of £240 (plus travel @ 35p per mile)

Certification: Upon completion of the course, the candidate will receive an e-certificate.

Level 2 Coach

This is the standard level of coaching qualification for all club coaches at local level. The award gives a general overview of all aspects of basketball, and a basic introduction to sports coaching.

Expected duration: 24 hours

Pre-requisite: Basketball knowledge or Level 1 Coach

Recommended minimum age: 18 years

Cost: £60 per candidate + recommended tutor fee of £480 (plus travel @ 35p per mile)

Certification: Upon completion of the course, the candidate will receive an e-certificate.
