Lions into Final, Sharks climb into second!

The BBL returned with an action-packed weekend including the revelation of the first Cup finalists.

London Lions became the first team to book their spot in the BBL Cup Final after overcoming Esh Group Eagles Newcastle for a 170-160 aggregate success.

The Eagles defended home court in the First Leg with a narrow 75-73 victory with 24 points from Rahmon Fletcher before London hit back at the Copper Box with a convincing 97-85 win to advance as Ladarius Tabb netted 22 points.

"It's a great feeling to make the final," declared Tabb. "I'm excited for the opportunity but this is a stepping stone of what we're trying to accomplish this year.

"We knew that the team is ran through Fletcher so we tried to limit his play and with us being at home [for the Second Leg] we fed off the crowd."

DBL Sharks Sheffield moved to 8-3 in the BBL Championship after a thrilling 70-71 victory away at Leicester Riders. Dirk Williams led the visitors with 33 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks as they made it seven straight in the league after fighting back from 11 down in the first quarter.
