Lions seal title, top eight confirmed

The 2018-19 regular BBL season came to an end over the weekend with the BBL Championship title decided along with the benecos BBL Play-Offs lineup.

London Lions wrapped up a historic first BBL Championship title with an 80-99 win away at Esh Group Eagles Newcastle on Friday night. Justin Robinson fired in 35 points in the title-clinching victory before the Lions followed up with an 89-69 success against Leicester Riders.

DBL Sharks Sheffield booked their spot in the benecos BBL Play-Offs after Dirk Williams fired in 40 points in their 104-86 success over Esh Group Eagles Newcastle. Cheshire Phoenix and Plymouth Raiders had their places confirmed on Friday when Bristol Flyers lost 83-84 to London City Royals.

Worcester Wolves edged out Surrey Scorchers to 11th on the final weekend with both sides rounding out their campaigns with wins. The Wolves beat Glasgow 74-72 on Friday night before falling to a loss at Cheshire Phoenix on the final day as Surrey finished strong to beat Bristol Flyers, 90-76.

Leicester had continued their winning run with an 87-81 win at home to Surrey on Friday with 18 points for Jamell Anderson.

Glasgow secured 5th spot with an 82-70 success over Plymouth Raiders in Kieron Achara's final league game, which also cemented 7th for Cheshire as they finished with a 100-83 win over Worcester to follow up victory away at London City.
