In the final Player of the Week awards for 2019, we have two selections remaining before the decade is out.
With a reduced fixture list in the final weekend before the mid-season break, a number of leagues weren't eligible for Player of the Week honours in week 13.
There were no WNBL Division One games, WNBL Division Two only had one game and didn't meet the minimum requirement of three games in a weekend to make a selection from and in NBL Division Two, no player met the minimum requirement of a 25 efficiency rating to be eligible for selection.
Below we've got our weekly winners below for NBL Division One and Division Three, and congratulations to both players selected!
After a close-run contest, Kayne King is our NBL Division Three Player of the Week.
Derby Trailblazers II managed to outlast Warwickshire Hawks for a 116-112 win, taking the Trailblazers to second in the Midlands conference at 9-3. The win came courtesy of a stunning 36 points from both King and Derby's Ben Brown, with King getting the nod for our award.
"It’s always good to get personal accolades but I think it’s more important the team has gone 3-0 since coming back to Derby," said King, who started the season with D1M side Worthing Thunder.
"I’m enjoying the time with the team as I played with some of the guys when I was 12-13 years old, for me it’s about rebuilding my game and just enjoying it."
Solent have managed to keep their unbeaten record intact going into 2020, and a big reason for that is our D1M Player of the Week Travis Charles.
In a difficult road game against a talented Thames Valley side, Charles was a dominant force as the American scored 26 points to go with a huge 19 rebounds, adding an assist, a steal and a block for good measure. That resulted in a final efficiency rating of 30 as the Kestrels ran out 105-82 winners.
"Our team has been doing a great job of supporting each other on the court and working for each other," said Charles, who also won this award back in week 10.
"I can’t say enough about what it’s like playing for a selfless team and a group of players that value winning above their own individual success."
