Rebels win on their travels to lead weekend takeaways

Another weekend in the books with the WBBL Championship shaping up nicely in the races for the league title and Play-Off spots.

Essex Rebels doubled their win tally for the season with a first success on the road after beating Cardiff Met Archers 65-78. Cat Lutz led the way for the visitors with a game-high 23 points along with 13 rebounds with DeAngelique Waithe also posting a double-double with 20 points and 14 boards.

Nottingham Wildcats moved back into the top four following their 88-59 win over Caledonia Pride, coupled with a loss for Manchester Mystics. Chelsey Shumpert fired in 31 points with Jasmine Joyner adding 24 points, 19 rebounds and six blocks to lead their side to a 9-4 record in fourth.

Oaklands Wolves recorded their biggest-ever league win in the WBBL after defeating Cardiff Met Archers 95-36. Lauren Milligan posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds with Tia Freeman also scoring 13 points with eight players in total scoring 9+ points.

Sevenoaks Suns made it 11 wins from 11 in the league as they defeated Manchester Mystics 78-58 with Janice Monakana once again top scoring off the bench with 15 points to lead the way.

Leicester Riders and Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters both moved to 11-2 behind the unbeaten Suns to keep up the pressure on the leaders. The Riders ended the run of the resurgent BA London Lions 72-92, while Sheffield overcame Durham Palatinates as Sarah Toeaina posted 22 points and 11 boards in a 52-60 success.
