Anglia Ruskin claimed the National Cup this weekend but all eyes are now back on the race for the D1W regular season title, with another four games this weekend.
Nottingham may have lost last weekend's Cup final but they still gave a good account of themselves and continued their string of improved performances since promotion to D1W.
NTU are also the latest side to stand in the way of Ipswich's potential march to regular season glory, and the race for top spot is getting tight. Leading the way on 22 points, Coach Drane's side have played a game more than 2nd place Anglia Ruskin, and ARU also hold the tie-breaker should those two sides finish with the same record.
Still, with just over a handful of games still to go between now and the end of the season, there's no doubt plenty of time remaining for a few twists and turns to the title race, including this tough trip to Nottingham tomorrow.
Ipswich are also in double-header action this weekend, they'll be hoping to follow up a win against NTU with another at home to BA London Lions II (2-9) in Sunday's only game.
Anglia Ruskin (10-2) only just made it into last weekend's National Cup final after a 66-65 OT win on the road against Bristol Academy Flyers (6-5). Those two sides meet in Cambridgeshire this weekend, and WNBL fans will no doubt be hoping for another close contest.
And finally, there's a 3rd plays 4th clash on the South coast as Team Solent Kestrels (8-3) entertain Thames Valley Cavaliers (7-6). Both these teams were enjoying modest win streaks before being beaten by leaders Ipswich, so it'll be interesting to see who can bounce back first.
