WNBL1 recap: Week 10 (4/5 December 2021) - live streams, stats and more

D1W is now through week 10, and heading towards the fast-approaching mid-season break.

There were three games this weekend, with important wins for Thames Valley, Ipswich and Anglia Ruskin.

There's a recap of all this weekend's scores below, and each result is also clickable if you wish to view the live stats.

Thames Valley Cavaliers (5-2) 82-74 Team Solent Kestrels (3-5)

Thames Valley moved into a share of second spot with a solid 82-74 victory against Solent.

Katherine Goldsby (20pts), Faith Okwuosa (16pts, 7reb) and Ezekiela Lisk (14pts, 12reb) were the trio that did the damage for the hosts, helping TVC to a 26-16 opening quarter that established a lead that Solent would never be able to overcome.

Detti Balla enjoyed a game-high 22 points for the visitors but it wouldn't be enough to stop the Kestrels from dropping their fourth game in a row.

Krisztina Velkey-Cleeve also contributed well in her continued return to action, she had nine points on 4-6 shooting.

The win moves the Cavs into a tie with Ipswich and Loughborough on 10 points, with all three sides still trailing leaders CoLA on 16.

Solent's recent form has seen the South coast side tumble down the standings from their recent top four spot. They currently sit in the final playoff spot of eighth, tied with Bristol on six points.

Elsewhere this weekend

Ipswich (5-1) enjoyed their fifth win of the season as they beat Reading Rockets (2-5) 77-53.

Ava Battese took over this one for the hosts, finishing with a stunning 41 points that included an incredible 11 three pointers, plus 15 rebounds.

Unsurprisingly, the Rockets had no answer for that kind of production, though Reading's captain Candela Hermida Nunez did have a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double.

London Lions II (1-8) pushed Anglia Ruskin University (4-2) all the way in the only other game this weekend, but eventually came up short.

With the visitors coming out on top 54-51, the result extends London's recent winless streak. ARU will no doubt be happy with another two points though, as they move up the standings into fifth.
