WNBL1 Recap: Week 23 (3/4 April 2021) - live streams, stats and more

The Easter weekend saw a trio of WNBL games take place, with wins for Ipswich, Solent and BA London Lions.

There were also some impressive individual performances across Saturday's action, with one player even flirting with a rare quadruple-double.

There's a recap of all the action below, and each result is also clickable if you wish to view the live stats.

Leaders back to winning ways

Ipswich (11-2) 94-72 Thames Valley Cavaliers (3-7)

31 points from Dani Cazey plus triple-doubles from Harriet Welham and Esther Little saw Ipswich past Thames Valley 94-72.

Little (11pts, 20reb, 11ast, 8blk) came close to a rare quad-double, falling just two blocks short of the landmark.

Welham (17pts, 10reb, 10ast) was also filling the stat sheet as the leaders used a 28-15 opening quarter to set up a comfortable win.

Katherine Goldsby (26pts, 12 reb) and Eleanor Bishop (10pts) were the only TVC players in double digits as the Cavs slipped into a tie for the eighth and final playoff spot following the loss.

Elsewhere this weekend

Two other games made up week 23, starting with Team Solent Kestrels (8-5) winning 79-52 against Reading Rockets (5-7).

The visiting Rockets edged ahead by two points after a competitive opening quarter, but lost their way during a 29-7 second frame that set the Kestrels up for the win.

Faye Endean top scored with 16 points for Solent, as Erica Mayer (12pts, 17reb) and Earleesha Jackson (10pts, 10reb) both added double-doubles.

Gaila Comesaña Gonzalez led the way for Reading with 15 points as current WNBL Player of the Week Saioa San Francisco didn't suit up.

Finally, BA London Lions (3-8) continued their recent good form, beating Cardiff Met Archers (1-7) 61-52.

An even game for the majority of the first half, the hosts moved in front during the third period and despite making a run at a comeback, Cardiff were never able to get back on level terms.

The victory is the Lions' third in a row, moving them into a tie for the eighth in the standings
