Great Britain Youth EuroBasket draws, schedules and venues for 2024

The Great Britain youth teams know who they will face in this summer’s newly named FIBA Youth EuroBasket competitions following Tuesday’s draws in Freising, Germany. 

The GB men’s and women’s U20, U18 and U16 teams will take part in events across Europe in July and August. 

The GB U20 Men have been drawn in Group B alongside the Netherlands, Azerbaijan, Portugal and Ireland in Pitesti, Romania, while the U20 Women go up against Romania and the Netherlands in Sofia, Bulgaria in Group D. 

The U18 men head to Skopje, Macedonia, where they will face Austria, Norway, Georgia and Portugal in Group D, while the U18 Women meet Lithuania, Denmark and the Netherlands in Ploiesti, Romania. 

GB’s U16 Men are part of a six-team Group C in Skopje, where they face Romania, Slovakia, Ireland, Denmark and Norway. The U16 Women meet Estonia, Iceland, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Lithuania in Group B in Konya, Turkey. 





Most of head coaches and staff for the teams were revealed last month with Chantelle Handy continuing as the U20 women’s head coach, Lance Randall taking charge of the U20 men and Krumesh Patel (U18 women), Alan Keane (U18 men) and Dan Petts (U16 men) also confirmed. 

Following this announcement, Troy Culley and Jay Williams have also now been confirmed as assistant coaches for the U20 men’s team. 

The programmes are run by the British Basketball Federation with support from Basketball England, Basketball Scotland and Basketball Wales.
