The Big Help Out - join in from the 16 April

This year, The Big Help Out will take place over the weekend 7-9 June, and the organisation behind the initiative will be launching the Big Help Out Platform on the 16 April, which will be available on the web, as well as a downloadable mobile app.

Once the platform is live, you will be able to search for volunteering opportunities.

The Big Help Out is open to all, and any organisation or individual can join in with or register an event.

The objective of The Big Help Out is to raise awareness of volunteering throughout the UK and provide opportunities for people to experience volunteering and making a difference in their communities.

Six million people joined The Big Help Out in 2023.

Basketball England's Club & Volunteers Development Manager Nick Holloway said:

"Volunteers continue to drive all sports, particularly at a grass roots level, and basketball is no exception.

"For leagues, clubs and other organisations, volunteers play an invaluable role in helping the sport reach and enrich those who are a part of it.

"I encourage all BE clubs to get involved with this year's Big Help Out movement as an opportunity to further connect with their local communities, to raise their profile in their area and potentially tap into a resource that could help their club in so many ways."
