There is also WNBL National Cup action as the road to Manchester’s National Basketball Performance Centre continues.
Worcester Wolves are looking to halt the four-game winning streak of the Bristol Academy Flyers on Saturday when the two teams meet at the University of Worcester Arena.
However, more importantly for the Wolves, they will be aiming to bounce back after two straight losses, albeit to the two most decorated WNBL sides in recent memory in CoLA and Ipswich.
Their formidable duo of Carolina Marques (18.0ppg, 2.4apg) and Nina Wallace (15.6ppg, 6.4rpg, 4.0apg, 4.9spg) have been in steady form recently but with a supporting cast of veterans such as Shanice Turner (8.3ppg, 1.4spg) and Charlotte Finn (5.5ppg, 1.3spg) on show too, they will be ready.
But, Bristol have been flying recently, with big wins over Loughborough and most recently over CoLA Southwark Pride, highlighting their four-game winning streak.
Team of the Week nominee Marlee Ball has been in red-hot form over the last month, leading the Flyers in almost every statistic available, averaging 18 points and 14.2 rebounds a game, shooting 35% from the floor and 37% from three-point land.
Hannah Wallace (10.7ppg, 4.5rpg, 2.0spg) and Kim Kheing (8.7ppg, 4.7apg, 2.7spg) provide solid back-up but crucially, the Flyers have been winning together, with a undeniable team-spirit that has guided them along their run.
.
CoLA Southwark Pride (5-2) will look to put the disappointment of last week’s loss to Bristol behind them when they host Barking Abbey (1-6) on Saturday.
With Brent Bulls not in league action, it gives the Pride an early opportunity to leapfrog them in the standings, but they must underestimate a Barking Abbey side, eager and raring to go every time they step onto the floor.
Thames Valley Cavaliers (3-4) make the long trip north to face the Manchester Mystics (4-4with both teams looking to shake off rusty form that has seen both sides lose three of their last four.
Great Britain junior Irene Oboavwoduo (12.0ppg, 8.9rpg) and veteran Rehana Khalil (10.5ppg, 3.2spg) will look to lift a Mystics side out of their funk with TVC’s duo of Kat Goldsby (19.8ppg, 8.9rpg, 3.7apg) and Yassin Belle-Mbaye (13.9ppg) aiming to end their drought.
Endeavour Ipswich Basketball (5-3) will be looking to end the good form of the promoted Cobham Cobras (4-4) with Maddy Wormold aiming to continue where she left off against Worcester last Friday, earning her Player of the Week honours.
In Sunday's only D1W game Anglia Ruskin University (5-3) head to bottom team Reading Rockets (1-6). ARU will be favorites with their record good enough to place them in a congested mid-table, but Rockets will be buoyed by claiming their first win last weekend, when they saw of Barking.
Three National Cup games take place on Sunday with Brent Bulls welcoming Cobham Cobras to The Den.
Loughborough Riders host Worcester Wolves and Bristol Academy Flyers returning home to face Thames Valley Cavaliers.
