Known as a key member of the Let's Do More (LDM) team in Leeds, Williams has displayed exceptional leadership and dedication to the sport and those involved.
In helping to create a positive culture for the young athletes she comes into contact with, Williams continues to get the best out of those who play at LDM, and the results speak for themselves.
Through her guidance as a positive role model, LDM has achieved remarkable success, and Charlotte’s passion for coaching continues to motivate both her players and peers to strive for greatness, both on and off the court.
"Charlotte has driven basketball for girls in the Yorkshire area through her work with Leeds LDM, and delivering girls' camps in Leeds and Scunthorpe.
"She is passionate about developing positive young people through encouraging a culture of teamwork, mutual support and respect. Alongside this, Charlotte has balanced her degree, her work with the Aspire programme and her University basketball commitments.
"Charlotte has also frequently travelled to Scunthorpe to support club sessions and NBL fixtures, in addition to mentoring her younger sister who is following a similar pathway as a young coach.
"Charlotte is such a strong advocate for girls' basketball. Her love for the game and developing young people shines through at every opportunity and she is more than deserving of this award to recognise all that she has done and continues to do."
"To see someone within the basketball community doing so much for so many really is wonderful.
"It is clear that Charlotte has many strings to her bow, and uses them all for the good of the game and to get the best from others.
"Her commitment and drive is admirable, and she is an excellent role model for others. A worthy winner of this year's award!"
Williams' recognition continues an eight-day period where national recipients of the 2024 Basketball England Awards will be announced.
Winners from across BE's ten regions were announced across April and May, with those recipients then shortlisted to narrow down the field for each national winner.
Williams and others will be recognised for their achievements over the coming few days, leading up to another cohort of selections being celebrated with their "Services to Basketball" awards tomorrow, Monday, 7 July 2025.
