Glasgow 2026: Dates and times for 3x3 basketball announced

Glasgow 2026, the biggest sporting event in the UK next year, has revealed the official Session Schedule for the Commonwealth Games; setting the stage for 10 unforgettable days of world-class sport.

The Games will run from the 23 July to the 2 August, with 3x3 Basketball and 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball featuring from the 24 July to the 29 July.

There has been an increase of the number of teams competing in the running and wheelchair basketball competitions from Birmingham 2022, with a quota of 12 men's and women's teams, meaning that there are three additional sessions across the six days of basketball competition.

3x3 Basketball and 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball will take centre stage at the Scottish Exhibition Campus on the first Friday and weekend of the Games (24, 25 and 26 July), promising for a show-stopping start.

The medal ceremony session will take place in the evening of the 29 July, 16:30-21:30.

BE's 3x3 Development Manager Meehra Gorasia said:

"The confirmation of the Glasgow 2026 schedule is another exciting milestone in the build up to the Commonwealth Games.

"Three extra sessions of 3x3 basketball for fans to enjoy reflects the growing popularity of the short format and with the bulk of the action happening during the opening weekend of the Games, means basketball is set to gain a whole host of new fans and inspired players.

"English preparations are well underway and we're ready to make a statement once again when competition tips-off next year."
