Taking place on the 1 June at the University of East London SportsDock, the tournament will bring together 60 players from across the UK, representing university and community teams from London, Warwick, Manchester, Glasgow, Southampton, and UCL.
Founded in August 2024, No Way is a London-based women’s basketball club that aims to provide a supportive and competitive space for British East and South East Asian (ESEA) women to play basketball — a group often underrepresented in UK grassroots sports.
Through this tournament, the organisation aims to build community, boost visibility, and inspire more Asian girls to get involved in the game.
“This tournament is more than just a competition - it’s a statement. We want to show that basketball belongs to everyone, and that Asian women deserve a place on the court, just like anyone else.
"Alongside the competition, the club will also be hosting an open shootaround session and a post-game social — designed to foster cross-city friendship, networking, and long-term engagement in the sport.
"We hope this event can contribute to Basketball England’s wider goals around inclusivity, community-building, and championing diverse stories in sport.
The London Cup will feature six teams, a full day of round-robin games, and friendly finals.
