Featuring a redesigned Men's competition alongside WNBL and Jnr. NBL competitions, the league season will get underway with the opening round of the National Cup on 20/21 September 2025.
Men's Division One will have a new look, with the 13 teams that featured last season, plus one promoted team, set to form a new independent league that will, once ratified by the British Basketball Federation, become the second-tier league for Britain.
Full senior league structures can be seen at the foot of this article.
The first half of the season will come to a close on 20/21 December 2025 as teams head into the mid-season break, re-emerging on 03/04 January 2026 before the National Cup Finals on 24/25 January 2026.
Then the race will be on into March and the end of the regular season, with the Senior Playoff Finals (25/26 April 2026) and Jnr. NBL Final Fours (02/03 May 2026) bringing the year to a close.
The NBL has once again grown, increasing 4.2% to a total of 1,077 teams from 1,033 a year ago, and represents back-to-back seasons in the NBL's history that the competition has played host to over 1,000 teams.
Membership, including individual NBL licencing, will be available from 14 July 2025.
For next season, registration links to join Basketball England will be sent to you directly by your clubs, rather than sign-up taking place on this website.
In some instances, you may not receive this link from your club immediately on or after the 14 July. It is a requirement of your club to activate and be trained on the new system before they can send this registration link to you.
The fixtures for the NBL, WNBL and Jnr. NBL, following promotions, relegations and new entries, will be sent to teams as soon as possible, ready for them to confirm venue availability and any changes needed. Senior structures can be seen in the gallery at the foot of this article.

“We're all set for another record breaking NBL season, with an incredible interest across the country from teams wanting to be a part of the NBL.
"After passing over 1,000 entries in 2024/25, we're delighted to raise that bar even further as another testament to the hard work both internally and externally to continue the growth of the sport."
With the off-season formation of the new stand-alone second-tier British basketball league, the top tier of the NBL pyramid will be a two-group affair for 2025/26, similar to last season's Division Two.
With the likes of former D1 winners Manchester Magic and Team Solent Kestrels in the mix alongside newly-promoted outfits Birmingham City University, Oxford Hoops, Sheffield Sharks, CoLA Southwark Pride and London Lions II, there's an exciting blend of teams across the top level.
Last season's League and Playoff winners CoLA Southwark Pride headline the 12 teams in WNBL Division One, with the likes of Ipswich, Brent Bulls and Anglia Ruskin University all looking to mount an assault on top spot, with Bromsgrove Bears and London All Stars joining the party from D2W.
NBL Division Two will be split into four pools, with a further six leagues making up NBL Division Three. WNBL Division Two will once again be split in two, with Reading Rockets and Barking Abbey both hoping to make an immediate return to the top table following relegation disappointment in 2024/25.
In total, 154 senior teams will take part in the new season, slightly down from 166 a year ago after the changes to the NBL structure.
.
The Jnr. NBL has risen from 867 to 923 teams for 2025/26, with another sharp rise in participation coming across the U18 men, U16 boys and U14 boys competitions.
As in previous seasons, there will be three premier competitions in the U18s, U16s and U14s on the boys side, with Northern, Eastern and Western pools at all three age groups.
The girls are split into a North and South premier across their three age groups, with a number of Conference leagues underpinning all the junior age groups.
Regional competitions are also in place for certain parts of the structure.
