Officiating: Exciting three-day CPD for officials at Aspire All-Star tournament

Basketball England is hosting a learning and development camp for officials at the National Basketball Performance Centre, Manchester this summer.

Taking place on the 25-27 July in conjunction with BE’s Aspire All-Star National Tournament, the camp will help referees, table officials and statisticians improve their craft in a live basketball environment.

Across the tournament:

  • Referees will have the opportunity to learn and develop their three and two person mechanics.
  • Table officials will enhance their scoring, timekeeping, and shot clock management.
  • Statisticians will be able to test their knowledge of the FIBA Live Stats software and work with new colleagues.

The unique element of the camp is that all officials will be able to learn and practise as they go, utilising the on-court action to enhance their development.

“We are excited to be working with our colleagues in the Talent team to host three days of continuing professional development for officials alongside the Aspire All-Star tournament.

“This camp is about supporting our core objectives of developing better officials for the good of the game, and helping people move up the officiating pathway.

“On hand will be some of the nation’s best officials ready to mentor and support our camp cohort and what better way to practise what you learn than by officiating live basketball games for the nation’s top youth talent.

"As always, we look forward to working with all our officials this summer.”
