The British Basketball Hall of Fame player, who retired at the end of the 2023/24 season after completing a stunning three-peat with the Sheffield Hatters II of D2W playoff titles, had a storied career for the Hatters in the WBBL, where she won six major honours, as well as caps for GB and a gold medal for the GB Women's 35+ team at the European Maxibasketball Champions in Malaga in 2022.
Head Coach Steve Butler called the news 'unbelievable' for the club's women's programme.
"It shows our intention this season in the league," said Butler.
"Helen is an unbelievable player, a great leader, she can dominant the scoring sheet, rebound, assist and help her team mates to get better.
"She has won pretty much everything you can win and yet has come out of retirement because of her competitiveness, desire and passion to win more.”
Naylor added: “I’m really excited to dust off the boots and join the Mohawks this season. I love playing for Steve, and I know it’s going to be a lot of hard work mixed with fun. ”
Tees Valley Mohawks will be holding try outs for the team on the 13 July from 13:30 - 15:00 at Queens Campus, Stockton Campus, Durham University for interested players.
