The Semi-Finals lineup in the WBBL Trophy is now complete after the pool stages came to a close over the weekend.
Durham Palatinates reached the Semi-Finals of a WBBL competition for the first time after securing top spot in their pool with an emphatic 58-93 victory against Caledonia Pride. Monika Bosilj led the way with 20 points and eight rebounds to help her side into the last four.
"We are very happy and humbled to be part of the Semi-Finals," said Rudiane Eduardo. "Nothing was given to us easily and we are proud and excited about this opportunity. We had a more experienced team and that was the difference against a good team of young players."
Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters swept their way into the Semi-Finals with two wins on the weekend to finish 4-0 in their pool. The WBBL Cup champions earned a 67-80 success at Manchester Mystics as all five starters hit double figures before beating Nottingham Wildcats 75-69 behind a 25-point haul from Sarah Toeaina.
Sevenoaks Suns knocked down 14 threes with 63% accuracy in their 58-101 win away at Essex Rebels to close out the pool stages. Judit Fritz, Jess Good and Renee Busch all netted 22+ points in the win as the Suns continued their momentum ahead of their last four clash with Leicester Riders.
Leicester Riders also finished their pool in style with a 59-44 success at home to Cardiff Met Archers, who also fell to a 68-59 loss on the road at Oaklands Wolves, despite a fourth quarter fightback.
Meanwhile, Newcastle Eagles earned another home win as they defeated Caledonia Pride 80-64 behind double-doubles from Kara Bonenberger and Giulia Simoni.
On Friday, BA London Lions closed out their Trophy campaign with a 92-66 victory over Essex Rebels as Urysla Cotton fired in 28 points and 12 rebounds in the win.
