Inaugural ETP Aspire Tournaments

Basketball England host the inaugural Aspire Tournaments as part of the new Talent System and Pathway over the next two weekends.

These tournaments will take place at the National Basketball Performance Centre on Manchester with the U13s competing this weekend and the U15s next weekend.

The tournaments will bring together 480 players, 120 coaches and 90 officials from across the country.

Along with providing the players with valuable experience, skilled observers will provide constructive feedback on their performances.

Programme and pathway integration manager Charlie Ford said: “The Aspire tournaments provide an opportunity for all of our regions’ coaches and players to come together to showcase the learning and development that has taken place over the last 10 months.

“Following our launch of the Player Development Framework, each region has delivered over 80 session hours in line with our age and stage requirements.

“The Aspire Tournaments not only provide a high level competitive experience for our players but also allow us to develop our coaches and officials. We will have a number of observers onsite all weekend providing feedback and learning opportunities for our workforce.”
