Mystics enjoy weekend travels to lead weekend takeaways

Three of the four Semi-Finalists in the WBBL Cup were revealed over the weekend with the same teams also improving their league records.

Manchester Mystics completed a dramatic weekend on the road as they defeated last year's Cup champions, Nottingham Wildcats to advance to the Semi-Finals.

Evelyn Ovner starred with 25 points in the 73-81 triumph following on from a 26-point display to help her side survive an overtime scare at Essex Rebels as the Mystics eventually prevailed with an 84-87 success.

Leicester Riders moved into the Semi-Finals of the Cup with a 65-83 win away at Oaklands Wolves as Kate Oliver marked her WBBL return with 25 points. They followed up the success with a 93-68 victory against Caledonia Pride behind a 29-point haul from Oregon-commit Holly Winterburn.

Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters were the another side to enjoy a double-winning weekend in the league and Cup after they started with a 74-95 victory at Caledonia Pride to advance to the Semi-Finals.

Helen Naylor fired in 25 points in the win before adding a further 22 points in a 104-57 victory against Essex to help her side move to 6-1 behind the league-leading Suns.

Meanwhile, Durham Palatinates doubled their win tally in the WBBL Championship after beating BA London Lions 75-54. Betsy Macdonald top scored with 26 points in a 40-minute effort, while Harriet Ottewill-Soulsby added 16 points and 12 rebounds.
