Barking Abbey (1-7) v Nottingham McDonald’s Hoods (1-7)

Barking Abbey host Nottingham Hoods in Week 9 of the Division One season, which will see a battle of 13th versus 14th respectively.

Both sides head into the clash looking for their second victory of the season and a chance to chase the mid-table teams.

The hosts head into the fixture following a close 91-104 loss against Thames Valley Cavaliers, whilst Hoods suffered a 82-99 defeat to Bradford Dragons.

Nottingham’s Victor Olaerin scored a team-high 22 points in his side’s loss, whilst teammate Garrison Goode scored 14 points and a game-high of four assists and two blocks.

 

Elsewhere in D1M

After scoring 40 points and six rebounds in week 8, Division One Player of the Week Elliot Sentance continues his fine form with his unbeaten Solent Kestrels (8-0), who host Liverpool (2-6) in 11th spot in the ladder.

Liverpool head into the weekend’s action following an agonisingly close defeat to Leicester Warriors, with just three points separating them at full time with a 93-90 scoreline. Kaphel Ulett-Waul scoring a team high of 26 points, as well as seven rebounds and five assists.

At the bottom of the ladder, Essex & Herts Leopards (0-8) search for their first win of the season as they host Reading Rockets (6-2) at the Oaklands College Sports Zone. Hafeez Abdul enjoyed a 40 point, 10 rebound double-double performance for the Leopards, but it wasn’t enough to help guide his side to victory.

Fourth-placed Reading recently suffered a 106-89 defeat to table toppers Kestrels, with A.J. Carr the top scorer for the Rockets with 28 points.

In second place, Hemel Storm (6-2) travel to Bradford Dragons (3-5), who recently jumped up to 9th spot in the ladder with a win over Nottingham, Rihards Sulcs scoring 25 points for the Dragons.

Elsewhere, Thames Valley Cavaliers (6-2) head into the round following their triumph over Barking Abbey, and they travel to Derby Trailblazers (5-3) who will also be high on confidence with a recent 109-86 victory over Essex & Herts Leopards.

T.J. Henderson scored a game-high 29 points for Leicester Warriors (4-4) in their victory over Liverpool, and his side host Loughborough Riders (5-3) who sit sixth in the table.

Lastly, fifth-placed Worthing Thunder (6-2) host Westminster Warriors (3-5) at Worthing Leisure Centre, with the hosts recently successful in OT over Hemel Storm 110-105.
