NBL Players of the Week - Week 9 (23/24 November 2019)

Congratulations to our NBL Player of the Week winners for Week 9 after their impressive performances. Unfortunately, due to a lack of games in the WNBL Division 1 and 2, there are no winners this week.

NBL Division Three

Daniel Turiccki - Northamptonshire Titans

With 39 points, 11 rebounds and one assist, Daniel Turiccki has been awarded as the D3M Player of the Week.

Northamptonshire Titans scored more points than any other team in division three, defeating Hemel Storm II 107-70. They sit top of the Eastern Conference with a record of 4-0, the only unbeaten team in the division.

“It’s an honour to be awarded Player of the Week by Basketball England,” he said.

“I’d like to thank my teammates, coach and everyone involved behind the scenes as they give me the drive and motivation to work hard every time I step on the court".

Coach Barry Powell added: "Daniel is constantly evolving into an exceptional player due to his high work ethic and mindset and it's great to have such a positive player in this new very talented team. He thoroughly deserves this award.”

NBL Division Two

Yonathan Napoleon - London Greenhouse Pioneers

After an impressive performance for London Greenhouse Pioneers in their 87-68 victory over Sussex Bears, Yonathan Napoleon gets the nod for week nine.

Napolean scored 37 points and a further seven rebounds and an impressive eight assists.

‘Happy to be selected as a player of the week but let’s keep playing well as a group and more awards will come our way,” he added.

 

NBL Division One

Taylor Johnson - Thames Valley Cavaliers

With 36 points, six rebounds, three assists, two ball steals and an efficiency rating of 37, Taylor Johnson has been awarded as this week’s Division One Player of the Week.

He helped guide his side to a 101-93 victory over Derby Trailblazers, and Thames Valley Cavaliers now sit third in the table.

“It’s an honour to be recognized as player of the week by Basketball England,” he said. 

“I am grateful for my teammates and coaches for making this possible. I look forward to seeing how the team grows as we continue to aim for higher goals.”

Coach Robert Banks added: “It is a pleasure to see Taylor be awarded player of the week, there is no one more deserving. He is a committed and excellent teammate, that hardworking and a joy to be around.”
