Play in school...

Our Dynamik National Schools Competition provides every school with the opportunity to play basketball and introduce secondary school children to competitive basketball. Check out more information and how to enter your school.

Play in college
We currently partner with the Association of Colleges Sport (AOC) who looks after sport in colleges all over the country.

They run leagues and events throughout the academic year for you to compete in, and they help us to run the Elite Academy Basketball League (EABL) which is our highest level of school/college competition in the country.

Play in BUCS
This league is played at colleges and universities throughout the country and offers you a way to play basketball whilst studying in Higher Education. Over 120 universities and colleges play basketball in the BUCS league so you can see it is really easy to play sport and get your qualifications.

To find out more about the BUCS league contact your university team and visit the BUCS website.

Local League
If you want to play basketball outside of your studies, Local League is one way of doing this. You play in competitive matches and gain that important game experience, but it’s a little bit more relaxed than some of our other opportunities to start competing, and of course you only play teams in your local area. There isn’t the financial and travelling commitment there is in competition such as National League. You can start from beginner and work your way up, or you can enter, or alternatively there are some Local Leagues of a really high standard. It’s up to you! More about our Local League set up can be found here.

National Founders Cup
The National Founders Cup is a knock out competition which is open to any affiliated team apart from teams playing the National League. You can even enter a completely new team. As long as the players are affiliated to us – you’re good to go!

National League
Here at Basketball England we run a number of National Leagues for various ages. It is the top level of national completion at Basketball England and is made up of different ages groups and regional leagues. Go to our National League section for more details.

There are loads of other programmes outlined in our initiatives part of the site which will tell you how else you can play and compete to whatever level you want to.
