Who is Basketball England?
Basketball England is the national governing body for basketball in England and is responsible for all aspects of the sport. It is a non profit organisation, it comprises of member clubs and players.

Recently moved to the English Institute of Sport building in Sheffield (EIS), Basketball England shares this facility with some of the best athletes in the world who have gone on to National and International success.

We are confident by locating our Headquarters here in the EIS in Sheffield, we can take the sport to greater levels of success, in our organisational process, national team success and participation growth levels.

Board of directors
Basketball England has a board of directors whose role is to advise on policy, procedure and governance of the sport. You can meet the board here. A team of just over 20 people are employed at the head office to carry out the day-to-day running of the organisation, including the development and growth of the sport.

75th Annual General Meeting

The 75th Annual General Meeting of Basketball England (a company limited by guarantee, registered number 1429756) will be held on Sunday,16 October 2016 at the Holiday Inn, Rugby, Northampton NN6 7XR from 1:30- 3:30. (Refreshments upon arrival from 1:15, map to be included with Agenda).

Nominations and resolutions must be received by the Company Secretary not less than forty-two (42) days (5th August 2016) before the date of the meeting.

Basketball England is recruiting three elected board members to serve as company directors through our membership election process at the Annual General Meeting.  The positions will be effective from 17 September 2016 and run for a initial term of three years.

The appropriately completed nomination forms should be sent electronically to info@basketballengland.co.uk, or returned to the Company Secretary, Basketball England, First Floor, English Institute of Sport – Sheffield, Coleridge Rd, Sheffield, S9 5DA.

The process for recruiting suitable elected members is as follows

  1. Nominations invited from the membership (2015/16 season affiliated clubs) to be received by 5th August
  2. Basketball England membership informed of the nominated candidates and postal votes open on  26th August
  3. Elected directors confirmed at the AGM on 17th September 2016
