Basketball England and Krossover announce 2018/19 deal

Basketball England is delighted to have signed a new deal with game analysis specialists Krossover so that all NBL and WNBL Division One games can be uploaded and analysed for the 2018/19 season.

Krossover has been used in the Basketball England Academy Leagues for some time and that arrangement is set to continue, with initial steps taken to also include the NBL and WNBL last season. This year’s deal represents a major move forward and a significant investment to improve the level of service provided to our top clubs.

As a sector leader in game film analysis, Krossover will provide our clubs, coaches, players and officials with a high quality performance review tool that will help all concerned both on and off the court.

Our enhanced partnership will include a bespoke Talent Tracking system that will enable a more efficient and complete way of tracking players by age group, gender and position. That information can then be used to provide additional support and Talent programme opportunities.

The media and content aspect of the deal shouldn’t be overlooked, with both the NBL department and clubs themselves able to clip and create highlight reels for website and social media use, increasing engagement and drawing more fans into the NBL.

Along with clubs, players and coaches all benefiting from the systems in place, officials and their assessors will also be able to access the Krossover portal to watch and analyse performances on a game by game basis.

Basketball England’s Senior Delivery Manager (Game) Gail Richards said, “It’s a great news to once again secure the service of Krossover for NBL and Academy League use. The ability to break down game tape for analysis, create custom highlight reels and provide usable and timely feedback to coaches, players and officials are all positive steps as we continue to push our competitions forward.”

Basketball England Officiating lead Simon Unsworth said, “Krossover is sure to provide an invaluable feedback tool for officials as they progress along the pathway and look to move up through our competency groups. As a department, we look forward to utilising Krossover to assist with officials’ development in 2018/19”

To ensure that clubs are able to utilise the Krossover software and understand the processes in place, Basketball England and Krossover organised a training session earlier this week. All teams using the service can do so immediately, and anyone needing assistance will Krossover can contact our team using the button below.
