Basketball England's strategic plan receives positive initial feedback

Basketball England would like to thank everyone who took the time to provide feedback on the recently released draft Basketball England Strategy 2018-2024 “Growing Basketball Together”

We heard from people with a range of roles within the game; coaches, officials, club managers, parents and fans and everyone who submitted feedback via our website will receive an individual response to acknowledge their feedback and provide further clarity where questions have been asked.

The overwhelming response to the strategy is positive and those who provided feedback are in broad agreement with the aims and objectives of the strategy.

In feeding back, members highlighted the importance of coach development and the need to both develop facilities and work with venue owners to make facilities more accessible as being important to them.

The importance of delivering and the game uniting behind the strategy was also a strong theme in the feedback.

Alongside the member consultation, Basketball England staff have been working with a number of organisations who are key stakeholders for basketball to also collect their views on the strategy.

All of the views received are being considered and a final version of the strategy will be published on 1 October 2018 and made available via the Basketball England website and social media channels, with regular updates on progress also planned to keep members up to speed with how things are progressing.
